We went to Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) after The Aviary.  Wallace worked @ CMU for approximately 11 years.

Alexis taking off through CMU’s campus!  It’s amazing to watch Denise go from standing to sprinting in less than one second.

Wallace walks the familar CMU halls with Kyle & Max racing behind him.  Wallace is in search of Walter; however, he was out to lunch.

Max proudly holding a Kookaburra feather

Max sponsored a Blue-winged Kookaburra and got to have a 15 minute private one-on-one encounter with the bird.  His name was “Giggles” and would giggle when Max would yell his name.  :-)

Difficult to see, but this is an owl in flight at the bird show

The drive from Noble, Illinois to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was the longest drive, approximately 8 to 9 hours.  We went to Pittsburgh to see my former college roommate (for all 4 years), Denise (a.k.a. “Weezer”), her husband, Paul, and to meet their two year old twins, Kyle & Alexis.  Unfortunately, Paul was stuck at work and we weren’t able to catch up with him this trip.

We all went to The National Aviary in North Side, Pittsburgh.  Wallace & I were members there when we lived in Pittsburgh back in the late 80s through late 90s.  A seperate post will show our visit to The National Aviary as well as our visit to Carnegie Mellon University.

Aunt Denise, Uncle Paul and cool cousins Kyle & Alexis go a little crazy with Valentine’s Day gifts this year!!! Stickers, stamps, PlayDoh, Valentine’s Day coloring books, Valentine’s Day craft projects, and chocolate shaped animals! WOW!

Max couldn’t wait to open all the Valentine’s Day gifts! He was jumping up & down from the moment he saw the box. It kept Max & Emily occupied for almost a full hour yesterday afternoon/evening! Thanks Denise!

And, an adorable Heart Breaker Valentine’s Day shirt!

He wore it to pre-school this morning!

Kyle even sports the same t-shirt with his funny face look!
