We checked out The Oakland Zoo for the first time yesterday afternoon with Kathy & Christian. It was a perfect warm, sunny California day! The Zoo exceeded our expectations. The setting is beautiful, it’s well maintained and it’s a perfect spot for active children to explore! We would definitely give it a thumbs up!
Flying High at the Zoo’s Ride Area
Christian & Max wait patiently to get on the car ride
Waving & smiling as they drive by to their biggests fans … their mommies!
Both of these little fellows need to be in the driver’s seat! This car is the perfect solution!
Christian’s mom (a.k.a. “Kathy”) takes Max on the Tiger Rollercoaster
Max smiled and laughed the entire time! He was thrilled with the ride!
Christian stops to take a snack break of shrimp!
Max asks for a shrimp too and pretends to eat it. Max is an incredibly particular eater. Shrimp is not on the top of his favorite food list.

The rain finally stopped today so we decided to go to the park with Max’s friend, Christian! Looks like Max & Christian are making some sort of raisin soup! Mmmmmmm…

They were playing in the sand & water area until Max’s shoes & socks were soaked so he went barefoot. Max jumped and happily played in the mud puddles for the next hour!
Then his sweet little sister joined in! Sister was wearing white! Not the best color choice for a mud puddle playing day!

Emily LOVES cookies; however, she calls them “crackers”. It all started when we went to Costa Rica for Christmas. Papa Dave bought these Costa Rican vanilla creme filled cookies! She loved them! She would seperate the cookie part and only eat the vanilla creme. She would just throw the cookie part away!
