Vasona Lake

Emily had a great time at Vasona Lake yesterday. She sported her new outfit from Auntie Suzy Q, Uncle Scott, Brynn & Kedryn. This is one cute outfit with little white lambs happily frolicking around the bottom edge of the top and hot pink piping on the neck line.

Emily even helped her Big Brother, Max, collect special rocks for his Sharing Day. She ended up throwing them all in the creek, but still … it’s the thought that counts!

Here she is with her plastic bag full of rocks

One sweet girl …

It is Sharing Day tomorrow at pre-school and Max wanted to collect some special rocks and some acorns to share with his fellow classmates so we headed to Vasona Lake this afternoon with some little plastic sandwich bags to do a little collecting.

Max looking sweet ‘n pensive

My sweet boy even picked a pretty yellow flower for his mama!

We collected the rocks for school tomorrow; however, he wanted to throw them in the creek? So he threw the first batch in the creek and we went back to collect some more “special” rocks. Then he threw the second batch in the creek?!?! Hmmmmm. The poor hungry ducks came a swimming up only to find rocks being thrown at them so we decided to give them Fig Newtons. They were delighted and happily quacked away at us!

This is Emily’s new friend, Megan Rose. She just moved here with her family from Texas.

Megan & Emily had their first playdate this morning and got along famously

Emily was tuckered out …

Max … the tree hugger!

A couple of cute tree huggers!

OH NO! Max continues to hug the tree, but Emily thinks she sees another monkey! Here we go again!

We went to the park today and Emily was looking in the trees for monos! She usually was the first to spot them in Costa Rica.

Unfortunately … there aren’t any monkeys in Los Gatos, California

But, she swears she sees one!

YEP! There it is! “Mono! Mono! Mono!”

She is soooo proud of herself for finding it and I didn’t have the heart to break it to her that it was just a squirrel

Emily celebrates her 18 month BD at “The Jungle” with her brother, Max, and some of her friends this afternoon

Flexibility at 18 months is amazing!

This adorable lime green outfit is compliments of Aunt Claudia! This soft cotton cardigan features a colorfully striped yoke topped with embroidered treats. These lime green corduory pants feature lollipops and other colorful embroidered candies down the side. The matching shirt (hidden under the cardigan) is a color coordinated lime & white striped shirt which reads “100% Sweet, Made from Pure Sugar!” The outfit is bright with a warm winter look! And, believe me, there was no losing her at “The Jungle”.

Happy 18 Month Birthday Emily Luisa!

We LOVE YOU!

Walking around Vasona Lake
with “PUPPY” of course
(Looks white now. It was black when we got home.)

Having a snack at the picnic table

Watching the ducks and swan. Emily would say, “Quack. Quack. Quack” whenever she saw a duck, swan, sea gull, goose or any other bird that she saw at the lake today

Gone Fishin’

We took a walk around Vasona Lake this afternoon and a very nice lady, Christina, was fishing with her niece and offered to show Max how to cast & reel in the line.

Max did a good job; however, he preferred to throw sticks and rocks into the lake

He also wanted to touch the bait (worm) and insisted that mama touch it too. I didn’t want him to think I was scared of a little worm. YUCK!

A beautiful white swan on the lake

Max says “hello”

Max has a short conversation with the swan and asks if he likes animal crackers

Claudia, Isabel, Julia & Emily in their final picture together as a foursome
(NOTE: Isabel is Claudia’s BIG sister and enjoys being the senior member & mentor of the LPGC group)

These girls will remain friends via video conferencing!
